Summary Heb 12

Hebrews 12:1-2
1 Therefore,
since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us
let us also lay aside every encumbrance
and
the sin which so easily entangles us,
and
let us (B)run with (C)endurance the race
that is set before us,

2fixing our eyes on Jesus,
the (D)author
and
perfecter of faith,
who for the joy set before Him (E)endured the cross,
(F)despising the shame,
and
has (G)sat down
at the right hand of the throne of God.




Learning Points:
Discipline: Produces the peaceful fruit of righteousness
God treats us as Sons
So we'll be strengthened and walk the correct path
Take joy in it

Sanctification:We are to be holy as God is Holy (holy living)
live to please God
It is God's will
SO control your own body. : No sexual immorality, passionate lust, impurity, greed, obscenity, foolish talk, coarse
joking, disobedient, lying, covetous, homosexuals, adulterers, revilers, swindlers,
fornicators etc.
Pure in heart will see God.
Thanksgiving
We are washed sanctified and justified in name of Jesus and the Spirit
will inherit the kingdom of God

Fruit of Righteousness: Is PEACE!
(quietness and confidence forever)

Isaiah 32:17 And the (A)work of righteousness will be peace,
And the service of righteousness, (B)quietness and confidence forever.


Root of bitterness: It causes trouble and defiles many, produces bitter poison, bring disaster on the land, curses
Esau is sexually immoral and took his birth right lightly
Heart that turns away from God and go worship idols. Wickedness, captive to sin
