4) Self-control
5) Perseverance
6) Godliness
7) Brotherly kindness
8) Love

Remember!
a) God has cleansed us from all our sins!
b) He has given us everything we need for life and godliness
c) He has given us great promises!

Results:
1) Participate in divine nature
2) Escape corruption caused by evil desires
3) Never fall

Giving me the strength to pull through another day. Felt so weighed down but was pulled through once again.

Housework and a Holy life

Prayer, Devotion and living a holy life is just like Housework. You have to do it everyday. Because the dust of this life; the seemingly minute unhappiness, bitterness, tiredness, temptations and worldly pleasures build up over time. And before you know it, your life is in a mess once again. Our lives needs constant cleaning by repentance, surrender and dependence. It needs constant checking for dust with the mirror of God's Word. It needs lots of resources, drawn from God by prayer and petition.

There is no one time you can stop. There is no end in doing it. But overtime, it reaps benefits that are out of this world. Just like how housework keeps one fit and healthy and trains us in discipline.

Lesson

Start the day with devotion and prayer. The problem will fade once you are done.

Numbering our days, running after emptiness

Psalm 90:12
So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
(Wisely use our time, recognize what is eternal, know our limitations and recognize that God is everlasting)

sOmetimes, we worship God with a stagnant spirit, having faith in our own strength, working hard to accumulate things that will not last. We do not seek God and are entrapped by the deceitfulness of this world and worries of life. Even when we practice spiritual disciplines, our motives are wrong as we want to gain the praise of men.
We thus must recognize our desperation and that we are chasing after emptiness. We must live beyond the temporal as our lives are fragile. We can always put our trust in Jesus as He is preeminent in all things.

Response: Put Him first in all things
Make full use of our time
No idolatry
Do not trust in our own strength
Break up our unplowed ground!
